Modou Nyang
Senior Director | Policy Strategist | Community Development Leader
Modou Nyang is a dynamic and results-oriented leader with extensive experience in policy advocacy, program management, and community development. As the Senior Director of Homeless Youth Services at Friends of Youth, he oversees critical housing programs, manages multimillion-dollar budgets, and leads strategic policy initiatives aimed at addressing youth homelessness.
Previously, Modou played a pivotal role at the King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA), where he spearheaded policy reforms, managed complex grant portfolios, and strengthened nonprofit capacity to enhance service delivery. His leadership extends across multiple nonprofit organizations in Washington State, where he has successfully optimized housing solutions and improved program efficiency.
Beyond his domestic contributions, Modou has been actively involved in international community development efforts, particularly in West Africa, where he has supported initiatives focused on women’s education and social empowerment.
He holds a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy, as well as a Master’s in Community Planning. His expertise in policy development, strategic leadership, urban planning, and public administration positions him as a driving force behind systemic reforms and innovative solutions for housing stability and social equity.
