August 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.<\/p>\n

While the real mortality of the atomic bombs remains unknown, it is estimated that over 150,000 (Hiroshima) and 75,000 (Nagasaki) people were killed and wounded during the US bombings of Japan. And the aftermath continues today. Survivors and their decedents face a number of illnesses and risk of cancer. Children of survivors have been found to have conclusive DNA genetic changes and malformations.<\/p>\n

Please join us for a memorial event, remembering the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, sponsored by\u00a0Veterans For Peace<\/a>, Women\u2019s International League for Peace and Freedom, and Citizens for Global Solutions.<\/p>\n

Schedule of Event:

\n7:00 p.m. – Dr. Helen Caldecott Video and survivor readings
\n8:00 p.m. – Candlelight Vigil<\/p>\n
