We will be bringing in the founder and director of the\u00a0Dane County Time Bank<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to come and speak about the Madison\u00a0TimeBank Youth Court<\/strong><\/a>,<\/span>\u00a0whose\u00a0mission\u00a0is to provide<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a positive alternative to the juvenile justice system<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0so youth can willingly take responsibility for their actions, make amends and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>build healthy and productive relationships<\/em><\/span><\/strong>. Working with law enforcement, schools, and neighborhood groups; youth in the program can contribute to<\/span>\u00a0a safer, more caring community.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We hope that you will join us to learn more about this initiative and meet others in the St. Louis community who are also doing work around timebanking and the criminal justice system. In addition to highlighting the work of the Dane County TimeBank,\u00a0we will be launching our local campaign in partnership with the\u00a0Cowry Collective Time Bank<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0to pressure the city to\u00a0<\/span>allow people to pay off fines for nonviolent offenses using their\u00a0time instead of money.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We’ll also be doing a\u00a0<\/span>**BOOK SWAP**<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0at this event thanks to a sponsorship from\u00a0<\/span>Shareable<\/a>, so bring a few to swap (it doesn’t have to be related to the event) if you can!<\/span><\/p>\n
