Across the country, cities are gearing up for Resolutions Week. The nationwide event, which starts in October, has been organized to coincide with the anniversary month of the Afghan War. Organizers feel the date presents a timely opportunity to make a stand and call for “moving money” from the Pentagon to local communities. The event is marked be a state-by-state drive to get cities to pass \u201cfund our communities, cut military spending\u201d resolutions. Organizers are calling on local groups to publicly help make the connection between city budget crunches and runaway Pentagon spending. The New Priorities Network, which serves as a facilitator and one-stop shop on related nationwide activities offers a plethora of information, updates and helpful tips on starting a resolution drive-be it forming a “working group” or actually getting the process for preparing and passing a resolution underway.
