The Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) have declared that the federal budget is a “moral document” and that leaders fighting to rein in costs cannot do so at the expense of the poor and hungry.<\/p>\n
“Programs meant to support people living in poverty can be made more effective, but not by cutting benefits that harm struggling families,” reads a section of the site under “Policies that Help.” The site declares that the federal budget is a reflection of our priorities as a society.”<\/p>\n
