{"id":1572,"date":"2013-05-21T19:39:34","date_gmt":"2013-05-22T01:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peaceeconomyproject.org\/wordpress\/?p=1572"},"modified":"2013-05-21T19:39:34","modified_gmt":"2013-05-22T01:39:34","slug":"boeing-st-louis-awarded-61-million-in-defense-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peaceeconomyproject.org\/wordpress\/boeing-st-louis-awarded-61-million-in-defense-contracts\/","title":{"rendered":"Boeing St. Louis awarded $61 million in defense contracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Greta Weiderman, St. Louis Buisness Journal<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/stlouis\/blog\/2013\/05\/boeing-st-louis-awarded-61-million.html?ana=twt\">click here for original article<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Defense awarded Boeing St. Louis two major contracts valued at $60.6 million, part of $717.7 million the department awarded Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.defense.gov\/contracts\/contract.aspx?contractid=5044\">One of the Boeing contracts<\/a>\u00a0is a $52.9 million modification to a previously awarded contract for the procurement of aircraft armament equipment for F\/A-18E\/F and EA-18G aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Work will be performed in St. Louis and is expected to be completed in May 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The department also awarded Boeing St. Louis a $7.7 million addition to a previous ordering agreement for Boeing to supply services and supplies to test and evaluate an F\/A-18E E66 Loads aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Work will be performed at the Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, Md. (78 percent); St. Louis, (21 percent); El Segundo, Calif. (.5 percent); and Bethpage, N.Y.
