Women for Peace

Join us for the fourth installment of Women for Peace. Created in February 2013 by Katerina Canyon and Susan Spit-fire Lively, “Women For Peace” is a poetry reading series dedicated to promoting Gender Violence Awareness. The show has featured many talented local artists, including Mali Newman, Deborah MashibiniJoyce M Grimes (Joyce Blue), Erin Goss, María Balogh, Pamela Garvey, Stephanie “Surreal Sista” Williams, Maria Guadalupe Massey (Agapay Mari), Basmin Nadra, Patricia Merritt, and Randi Bobbi W.

The June event will feature in-depth performances by Dana “Kels” Kelly, Susan Spit-fire Lively, and more TBA. In addition there will be local art viewing and delicious food and beverages available for purchase. $5.00 suggested donation at the door; all proceeds benefit PEP.

Katerina Canyon serves as Executive Director of the Peace Economy Project, where she combines her passion for community advocacy, creative expression, and social justice to challenge militarization and uplift human-centered policy. Drawing on experience in tech, nonprofits, and international communication, she leads research and organizing focused on peace, accountability, and community investment. She is also a poet whose work explores trauma, resilience, and collective healing.
