#TakeBackMLK Rally

Monday, January 19
10:00 am
Old Courthouse, 11 N 4th St

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life to justice for the poor, working class and people of color. Mayor Slay and St. Louis City’s Annual MLK Observance will be on 19 January; an event that only serves as a token acknowledgement of African Americans in St. Louis. In light of the police murder of Mike Brown, and the continued inability of the city government to seriously address systemic racism, police brutality, poverty and unemployment, we will #TakeBackMLK.
Mayor Slay, the St. Louis Board of Public Service and wealthy downtown land developers are demanding the closure of Larry Rice’s New Life Evangelistic Center for the Homeless; a shelter that houses up to 300 homeless people a night.

Meet at the Old Courthouse (11 North 4th Street, St. Louis, MO 63102) at 10am. The march to New Life Evangelistic Center (1411 Locust Street, St. Louis, MO 63103) will begin at 11am.
