Rachel Reyes

Rachel Reyes is a community, political, and worker organizer born and raised in Los Angeles.

Rachel began her organizing journey as a teenager with the Bus Riders Union and has since worked with various labor and electoral campaigns around LA and abroad. Rachel has a background in the nonprofit sector, most recently working during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with grocery and retail workers. Her work during this time ensured that essential workers were guaranteed higher pay, direct access to protections, and stronger contracts overall. Rachel is a sixth generation Angeleno and a co-host of the LA Podcast. 

Rachel began her professional career in museum education, working for the Natural History Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the National Gallery in London.

Rachel is a two-time Getty Scholar and holds a B.A. in Art History and Ethnic Studies from Mills College.

Her activism seeks to improve the lives of all people.

Katerina Canyon serves as Executive Director of the Peace Economy Project, where she combines her passion for community advocacy, creative expression, and social justice to challenge militarization and uplift human-centered policy. Drawing on experience in tech, nonprofits, and international communication, she leads research and organizing focused on peace, accountability, and community investment. She is also a poet whose work explores trauma, resilience, and collective healing.
