PEP to Host Charlie King on March 2nd

Heagney Theatre at Nerinx Hall will once again be filled with the sounds of Charlie King and Karen Brandow on Saturday, March 2nd.  Annual visitors to St. Louis, Charlie and Karen have been performing together since 1998, telling the stories of ordinary people through song with the added punch of political satire.

A long-standing facet of the American folk music scene, Charlie’s songs have been sung by Pete Seeger, Holly Near, Ronnie Gilbert, John McCutcheon, Arlo Guthrie, Peggy Seeger, Chad Mitchell and Judy Small.  He draws much of his influence from the folk music revival of the 1960s and the protest songs of the Civil Rights and Vietnam War era.

This concert event will also mark PEP’s annual silent auction fundraiser, with all proceeds from the concert and auction benefiting continued efforts to provide education and awareness of the dangers of a growing military industrial complex.

Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased from our website event page here.  Buy your tickets now to reserve your seat, then invite your friends and family to this once a year event.  Doors open at 7 p.m., concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
