PEP gets ready for lobbying on Capitol Hill

Yesterday, the National Catholic Reporter featured our appeal to Congress to cut Pentagon spending.

Preparations for our DC lobby trip are underway. On July 14, Congressional Lobby Intern Jacob Chappell and Director Jasmin Maurer will head out to Capitol Hill. They will take with them the names of everyone who signed the appeal to their appropriate Congressional Representatives offices.

There’s still time to sign if you haven’t. Sign on today, and make sure your voice is heard.

We’ll also be holding a barbecue kick-off party to see off our delegation. Join us at the Wine Press on Wednesday July 9 from 5-7 pm for barbecue and fun. Donation of $15 at the door gets you a plate.

We’re up against the big money of defense lobbyists, and hope that you can help us tip the scales back in favor of the people.
