PEP CONTINUES ARMS CONTROL PROGRAM

Katie Graham will join the Peace Economy Project Arms Control Fellow Program next week.

The Arms Control Fellowship Program teaches college students and those planning on attending college the importance of arms control agreements in the pursuit of a world governed by law and peace. Jason Sibert, the PEP’s executive director, manages the program and teaches the classes that define the program. The arms control program features instruction on international law, international relations, arms control and how current events impact the future of peace and arms control.

Graham looks forward to participating in the program due to her interest in arms control, diplomacy and international relations. She attended Missouri State University in Joplin and Pittsburg State University in Kansas where she studied international relations, international business and economics.

The new arms control fellow worked as a business manager for Plumbers Local 8 and as a deputy caucus director for the 2016 campaign of Hillary Clinton. She also worked as a field director for Vote No on Prop A/We are Missouri. In addition, Graham was on the staff of the Rita Lucido for Texas Senate and the John Farmer de La Torre for U.S. Congress campaign. She has also been involved in political campaigns as a volunteer.

Graham plans on returning to college and eventually attending law school. Sibert looks forward to working with such a qualified fellow.
