ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said he enjoyed the lively conversation he had with residents this afternoon via Twitter.
“It was kind of all over the place, but in a good way,” Dotson told KMOX after the virtual meeting.
On Monday, people tweeted questions to the chief (@ChiefSLMPD) from noon to 1:30 p.m., in an open conversation the department called “Real Talk with Chief Dotson.”
The questions ranged from the possible use of drones by the St. Louis police department, curbing drug abuse and crime, and how to become an officer.
Dotson jokingly said sometimes it was tough to answer questions with only 140 characters, but it was a success and he plans on doing it again.
“I thought it was a great opportunity for the police department and for me to reach out to a pretty broad based audience,” Dotson said. “I go to a lot of neighborhood meetings but this was a chance for the whole city the whole region to kind of be participating in the whole conversation.” #ASKstlCOP
