Boeing St. Louis awarded $61 million in defense contracts

The U.S. Department of Defense awarded Boeing St. Louis two major contracts valued at $60.6 million, part of $717.7 million the department awarded Monday.

One of the Boeing contracts is a $52.9 million modification to a previously awarded contract for the procurement of aircraft armament equipment for F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft.

Work will be performed in St. Louis and is expected to be completed in May 2016.

The department also awarded Boeing St. Louis a $7.7 million addition to a previous ordering agreement for Boeing to supply services and supplies to test and evaluate an F/A-18E E66 Loads aircraft.

Work will be performed at the Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, Md. (78 percent); St. Louis, (21 percent); El Segundo, Calif. (.5 percent); and Bethpage, N.Y. (.5 percent), and is expected to be complete in May 2014.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security, based in Hazelwood, is a $33 billion business with 59,000 employees worldwide and 14,730 local employees.
