Boeing’s bid for a South Korean fighter jet project worth an estimated $7.64 billion appears likely to be accepted.
Boeing Co’s F-15 Silent Eagle was the only eligible bid coming in under budget, according to Reuters.
Lockheed Martin Corp. and Eurofighter also submitted bids.
The deal will be scrutinized by a final decision-making committee chaired by South Korea’s defense minister, according to the news agency. That committee will meet next week.
Boeing Defense, Space & Security, based in Hazelwood, is a $33 billion business of Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) with 15,110 full-time local employees.
