PEP HOSTS BURTON MUSIC FOR PEACE
The Peace Economy Project will host a fundraising concert on Apr. 28.
The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. on April 28 at Tegler Hall on the campus of St. Louis University. The title of the concert is “Burton for Peace” and the program will feature the music of Motown and as well as music advocating the twin causes of peace and justice.
All proceeds will benefit the Peace Economy Project which promotes an economy based around the idea of peace and not the bloated defense budgets that are the norm. PEP currently runs a website, two social media sites, and also produces media on its’ mission for a number of newspapers and publications. In addition, the non-profit also remains active in the St. Louis community in hosting a number of forums that touch on the issues it advocates.
A black bean soup and salad supper will start at 6:30 p.m. and the music will start at 8:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction all evening. The concert will also feature a chocolate potluck, but other deserts are welcome. Tickets are $15 dollars at the door and $10 in advance, $5 JPS shareholders.
