U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops: Federal budget is a 'moral document'
The Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) have declared that the federal budget is a “moral document” and that leaders fighting to rein in costs cannot do so at the expense of the poor and hungry.
“Programs meant to support people living in poverty can be made more effective, but not by cutting benefits that harm struggling families,” reads a section of the site under “Policies that Help.” The site declares that the federal budget is a reflection of our priorities as a society.”
