It is clear to anyone who is paying attention and believes that the role of police are to protect and serve that there is lack of adequate accountability and oversight of police in the United States. There are far too many cases of police misconduct and brutality that at best result in a bad police encounter for the person stopped and at worse death. Body Cameras may soon be coming to the Saint Louis Police Department. Are they an answer to help solve this problem or will they add new issues? Have all the questions been asked? Are adequate rules and policies being put into place? Who has made the decision to bring body cameras to Saint Louis? We will explore these questions and more.
