PEP’s New Executive Director

The Peace Economy Project is excited to welcome its new Executive Director, Rachel Kent.

Originally from Cleveland, OH, Rachel graduated from Wilmington College of Ohio with a degree in Political Science.

While in school, Rachel traveled to Nicaragua, Israel/Palestine and Japan as a witness for peace. In each trip, Rachel experienced the effect that war, poverty, violence and lack of education can have on a nation and its communities. It was through these trips that Rachel became dedicated to the pursuit of peace.

After graduating, Rachel spent one year as the Nuclear Disarmament Program Assistant at the Friends Committee on National Legislation, located in Washington, DC. During her time at FCNL, Rachel was introduced to the idea of the military-industrial complex, and the need for a more just, peaceful economy.

Rachel is excited to begin her tenure at the Peace Economy Project, and is looking forward to hearing from PEP members about what their vision of a peace economy looks like.
